Braidwood hits the road to go modelling in California

Braidwood Associates, the Edinburgh-based traffic modelling consultancy, has won a "major" deal with Caltrans, the roads authority in California.
Under the terms of the deal - financial details of which were undisclosed - the firm will work with California-based System Metrics Group to help develop the state's road network.
Richard Braidwood, managing director of Braidwood, said the contract was a significant achievement, given that his firm was only established in January this year.
He added: "Caltrans is demonstrating its intention to provide the State of California with a transport network capable of managing present and future traffic flows."
Tarek Hatata, managing director of Systems Metric, said Braidwood's experience in microsimulation "exceeds anyone else in the United States".
